Ourmission: To make learning through play part of every childhood

At Rise Bulgaria , we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn and dream – from the very first years of their life. That’s why we work with both local organizations and professionals in the field and at the national level to build policies that support early childhood development through play and experience.

What do we achieve?

Our main goal is simple but bold: learning through play to become part of education in Bulgaria – from early age to primary school. Why is that? Because play is the most natural way for children to learn, develop and build basic skills for the 21st century – such as creativity, independence, emotional resilience and the ability to cooperate. Equal access to quality early education is particularly important for us, including for:
  • children from marginalized and ethnic minority communities
  • refugees and migrants
  • children at risk or with traumatic experiences
  • children at risk of dropping out of the educational system

Why do we advocate playful learning?

Because science proves it, and practice confirms it:
  • Neuroscience shows that play is key to brain development.
  • Research proves that learning through play improves literacy, math, executive functions, and social skills.
  • Equality – the game creates conditions for inclusion and overcoming educational inequalities.
Learning through play is an active, joyful, meaningful, and social experience. It encourages curiosity, freedom to make mistakes, discovery and confidence.
